Parent Council AGM tonight at 6.30pm in the School Staff Room

Posted on

Good morning! What a lovely day 😳🌧️ Just a wee reminder that the Parent Council AGM is tonight at 6.30pm in the Staff room at school. Everyone is welcome and it would be lovely to see more parents becoming involved in the Parent Council as without their fundraising, we couldn’t possibly do as much with the children as we do. For example, nearly every bus booked by the school last year was paid for by the Parent Council. The Ipads the children use in school were paid for by the Parent Council, the list is endless and we are so grateful.

School Website & Social Media

Dear Parents/Carers

School Website and Social Media

We are going to be making some changes to the school website and the school blog system that is in place at the moment.  Currently, we are using the school website to keep you informed of important dates; and its blog feature to showcase some of the wonderful learning that takes place in each class.  Last year we trialled Facebook for the first time and have found that our Facebook page receives a far greater number of comments and views than our current blogs do.  We are therefore proposing a change that will see the blogs closed down and replaced by a brand new Facebook page.  This would mean that instead of the blogs, our classroom learning updates would go onto our Facebook page.

We understand that some parents may not be comfortable with using social media but we would like to stress that our new Auldearn Primary School Facebook page will be a closed and private group.  This would mean that people would have to apply to access the page and would then need to be accepted by our Facebook gatekeeper ensuring our page and any information, photos and videos posted, secure.

A lot of the information that is posted on Facebook e.g  important dates, will also be posted on the school website.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the School Office on 01667 452118.

Yours sincerely
